Ahmedabad, August 26: Indefinite curfew, which was clamped in Dariapur area following pitched battle between police and mob, continued for the second day on Sunday even as situation remained peaceful in the city, police said.
No untoward incident have been reported from the riot hit areas since Saturday night, police said. Police had burst teargas shells to disperse a mob indulging in heavy stone pelting, damaging private property and causing injury to seven people.
But as the rampage continued, police fired six rounds, in which one person was killed. Later, an indefinite curfew was clamped as a precautionary measure. Situation in neighbouring Kalupur and Shahpur localities also remained peaceful, police added.
