Jeweller robbed of cash
AHMEDABAD: A jeweller was robbed of valuables and cash worth Rs 3 lakh by four unidentified men while he was on his way home at Shahibaug on Friday evening.
According to the complaint lodged with Narayanpura police by Devendra M Shah, the owner of Shree Jewellers, he was intercepted by four unidentified persons and was made to hand over cash and valuables. The loot included Rs 25,000 in cash, 45 'tolas' of gold ornaments and silver jewellery weighing 11 kg. The foursome later fled from the scene. Investigations are on, said police.
Liquor seized
Acting on a tip-off, Odhav police intercepted a Tata Sumo near Virat Nagar Char Rasta and seized foreign liquor worth Rs 1.20 lakh. The vehicle's occupant, Harshan Nagaji Meghwal, a resident of Dabbal, Rajasthan, was arrested in this connection.
Road mishaps
One Dalpatsinh Chaturbhai Solanki, a resident of Rampura Gam of Kheda district, died on the spot after being hit by a speeding truck (MH-22-1132) on Narol highway on Friday evening. Solanki was riding a cycle when the mishap occurred. In a separate mishap, one Mahesh Patel of Karol was crushed to death by a truck (GJ-18-T931) on Wednesday. The victim was riding a motorcycle when the mishap occurred, said a complaint lodged by his wife, Ashaben Patel, with Dehgam police.News Source : The Times of India [India's best Newspaper]
