8-yr-old injured as building comes tumbling down Monday, May 28, 2001
Ahmedabad, May 27: A portion of an old building opposite Maninagar railway station collapsed on Sunday evening injuring an eight-year-old girl. According to the station fire officer of Maninagar railway station, Mr B.H. Patel, “The building was 50-years-old and could not withstand the wind. Hence it collapsed.”
However, no one was living in the Amin Complex during the incident and so no serious casualties occured, said Mr Patel. The rest of the building was later demolished by the Estate-TDO department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The injured girl was later admitted to L G hospital.
