Enterpreneur-trainers given awards Friday, December 14, 2001

AHMEDABAD: Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India gave away national awards to best entrepreneur trainer-motivators on Thursday.
Shaikh Gaffar Razak of Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Aurangabad bagged the first award _ Rs 21,000, a citation and a trophy. Razak was selected for conducting 24 entrepreneurship development programmes and many short-term courses in his career span of 15 years. He trained 454 entrepreneurs of whom 328 have started their ventures.
Then followed by his colleague at the centre Abhiram Dabir who got the second prize of Rs 15,000.
Looking at the commendable work carried out by the short-listed candidates the award committee decided to award two special prizes of Rs 5,000 each, a statement from the institute added.
These special prizes were given to Arun Kuksal of Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Uttar Pradesh and Shakti Nandan Mishra, assistant director at CSTRI, Guwahati.
The award presentation ceremony also triggered off two-day national convention of Entrepreneurs Trainer-Motivators attended by 80 delegates representing 20 states from various Entrepreneurship Development Institutions.
The convention is aimed at providing a common platform for interactions to field trainers and ED professionals to share their varied and rich experiences.
In his inaugural speech , consumer activist Manubhai Shah urged the trainees to first assimilate what they learn at the institute and then implement them.
Vice-President and institute director V G Patel pointed that socio-economic environment was fast changing and in such an environment ED trainer-motivators should constantly acquire new skills to keep their jobs challenging.
Award and convention convenor S B Sareen said the awards would encourage entrepreneur trainer-motivators to work towards creating entrepreneurs and their contribution towards socio-economic growth.News Source : The Times of India [India's best Newspaper]
