Carmel, Tulip win contest Monday, August 13, 2001

AHMEDABAD: The Indian Society of Remote Sensing - Ahmedabad Chapter (ISRS-AC) and Tulip School jointly organised a project exhibition on Saturday on the eve of the birth anniversary of late Vikram Sarabhai.

The theme of the project exhibition was 'Space Technology for Improving Quality of Life'. Eleven schools participated with their projects. The first prize in secondary section was won by Mt Carmel School while the second prize was won by Tulip School and Ekalavya School. In the higher secondary section, the first prize was won by Tulip School.

ISRS-AC was found in 1983 to promote use of remote sensing technology in Gujarat and bring awareness of the immense potential of this technology among officers, academicians and students by way of organising various programmes.

The function started with welcome address by Nashy Chauhan, the director of Tulip school. Dr Shailesh Nayak, the chairman of ISRS-AC, briefly spoke on National Remote Sensing Day and the activities of the society while N S Mehta, the secretary of ISRS-AC, delivered the vote of thanks on the occasion.
