Congress demands PM's resignation Friday, December 14, 2001
SOURCE - TIMES NEWS NETWORK
AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee has criticised the security lapse at the parliament complex and demanded the resignation of prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in this connection.
Talking to reporters on Thursday, GPCC chief Amarsinh Chaudhary said that if terrorists can walk upto the chambers of the ministers and open fire in the parliament in broad daylight, the common man is hardly secure.
"To add salt to the wounds, the Union home minister and the defence minister who are supposed to or claimed to know about these possibilities should have made tight security arrangements especially when the session was on", he said.
Criticising the coffin scam, Chaudhary said that the Congress had decided to stage a demonstration at Relief road on Saturday where the party workers would carry a coffin in a rally right upto the collectorate to be presented to the collector.News Source : The Times of India [India's best Newspaper]
