House-break case
old ornaments and cash worth Rs 1,24,500 were stolen from the residence of one Vipul Shah in Bhawaniwad area of the city, said police sources.


One killed
One Sarju Topi Sharma (25) died of head injuries after the scooter he was pillion-riding was hit by a vehicle driven by Upen Ramani near Limbayat area on Tuesday. A case of rash driving was registered against Ramani, said police sources.


ITI in Hazira
The proposal to set up an ITI in Hazira is in its final stages, said Union textile minister Kashiram Rana at a meeting on Sunday.


Ayyappa 'puja'
Ayyappa Bhakta Sangham, Hazira, will conduct a Lord Ayyappa 'puja' at Bharat Mandir, Kribhco Nagar, on December 16, said a press note.


Award for KGPP
NTPC's 656-MW Kawas Gas Power Project (KGPP) received the Indo-German Greentech Environmental Excellence award for 2000-2001, said a press note. KGPP received the award for the second consecutive year.
