Calico Museum
The excellent Calico Museum of Textiles (Tel : 7868172)
Exhibits antique and modern Textiles including rare tapestries, wall
hanging and costumes. Also on display are old weaving machines. The
Museum is in sarabhai House, a former haveli (mansion), in
the Shahi Bagh Gardens. You can only enter on a free guided tour.
Tours depart at 10.15 am and 2.45 pm, and the museum is closed on
Wednesday.

Institute of Indology The
institute is in the Gujarat university campus, has an important
collection of illustrated manuscripts and miniatures and one of the
finest collections relating to Jainism in India. it's open daily
from 11.30 am to 5.30 pm except Sunday.

NC Mehta Museum of Miniatures
The Institute of Indology, has excellent examples of the
various schools of Indian miniature painting. It's open Tuesday to
Saturday from 9 to 11 am and 4 to 7 pm. The building was designed by
Le Corbusier, who also had hand in the new capital of Gandhinagar.

Shreyas Folk Museum It is
situated in the area called Shreyas Tekra (hill), Ambavadi, displays
the folk arts & crafts of Gujarat.

Utensils Museum There's a
curious collection of cooking utensils at the in the compound of the
Vishalla restaurant. Items incltide nutcrackers, knives, cooking
vessels and various other utensils. The museum is open daily from
10.30 am to 10.30 pm and entry costs Rs 3; photography is not
allowed.
